Guided Meditation for Depression

Guided Meditation for Depression

Depression is a great method to relax and balance your mind and body. When someone is depressed, meditation, especially mindfulness meditation, can help them calm down, control their thoughts and connect to their body. You may feel disconnected to your body and feel like you live in your head and have no understanding of what's going on in your body. Mindfulness helps you become aware of bodily sensations and forces you to be in the present rather than worrying about the future or feeling guilty about the past. Mindfulness is something everyone can do, and you do not need to be an expert at it, for it to be beneficial for you. So try it out and give it a chance. You can get audio guided meditation exercises in mindfulness, grounding meditation, chakra meditation and breathing meditation from my brand new iPhone App "REACH OUT - Fight Depression and Anxiety" and there will also be a special bonus meditation exercise for insomnia to help you fall asleep. The app will be available from the App Store and my website REACH OUT APP from April 15, 2014. So be the first and get it as soon as it comes out!

Below is a motivational video for depression I have created to help motivate you to fight and keep going!

Fight Depression and Anxiety

This post is for you who are suffering from depression or anxiety or for you who are you just having a tough time right now.

A lot of people, especially young people, are experiencing depression, but do not talk to anyone about it. Talking to friends and family about can really help and you do not have to go through this alone. You should also consider talking to your doctor and ask him or her for help.

I am a nurse student, and I have a special interest in psychiatry and is therefore working on ways to help people with depression and anxiety, as I have seen how it effect people and how paralysed they become. Since I am not a nurse yet, I have instead created an iPhone App that is basically a handy tool you can have on you at all times. In the app are different relaxation tools, such as guided meditation exercises, and tools for anxiety attacks. There will also be some easy cognitive therapy techniques you can use to change your negative thoughts no matter where you are.

The App is called “REACH OUT – Fight Depression and Anxiety” and will be available in the Apple App Store from April 15 2014. This means I cannot at this moment give you the download link for the app, but I will post it as soon as the app hits the store. But what I can give you is my Facebook fan page, where I will keep you updated and notify you when the app is released and when updates are made. The fan page will also be a forum for inspiration and motivation to keep going and keep fighting.

Your Third Eye Chakra – How to Open Your Third Eye

Your Third Eye Chakra – How to Open Your Third Eye
The third eye is the sixth chakra in the kundalini system. It is placed at the middle of the forehead between the eyebrows. Activation meditation can help you open your chakra and stimulate it, but first you may want to learn some basic information about this chakra before doing 3. eye exercises.
Basic Information
Colour: the colour of the third eye is purple. This can be a very useful information in your meditation so that you have a specific colour to visualize to help you connect with this 3rd eye.

Sanskrit Name: Ajna
Characteristics: This specific chakra is one of the chakras that is not connected to our physical body and the earth. The third eye is more connected to our spirituality and the spiritual world. It is also connected to our psychic skills, so if you want to start working with your spirituality and psychic abilities, you may want to learn more about this chakra.
Third Eye Activation Meditation
Find a calm place for you to practice your meditation exercise without being disturbed. Turn of all the many electrical gadgets and find a comfortable meditation posture. Sit with your back straight, and take a short minute to calm your mind and body.
Step 1
Close your eyes and take some deep slow cleansing breathes in through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Allow yourself to totally relax. Let the air carry out all the frustration from your body and mind. Notice yourself becoming more and more relaxed and calm with every inhalation and exhalation.
Step 2
Now, continue to breathe slowly and deeply but switch your focus to your third eye chakra in the middle of your forehead. Visualize that you are inhaling and exhaling through your third eye area. Inhale purple air into your body. Try to really feel the air as it enters your body through this chakra. Feel the psychic energy that fills your body and energizes you with new and loving energy. Exhale the air through your forehead as a drained plain air empty of energy.
Step 3
Don't force yourself to feel anything, but notice if you are feeling any strange sensation on your forehead such as a tingling feeling, which could indicate that your chakra is being stimulated. Do this third eye breathing for 20 minutes.
There are many other types of meditation techniques you can do to help you stimulate your third eye chakra. I suggest that you work with some different ones and see which ones give you the best results. But be patient and allow the chakra to open little by little. If you rush the exercises or become impatient it can ruin your practice and you may not get the greatest results. So give it time and practice your meditation frequently so that it will be a part of your daily routine, which will help it feel like a habit and something you want to do instead of something you have to do.
Remember that your third eye is just one chakra of the seven different chakras in the kundalini system, which are all equally important, so remember to also work on the rest of the system to create balance between the chakras.

Do You Want to Star Meditating?

Do You Want to Star Meditating?

Some people find it fairly difficult to know where to start your meditation practice and how to do it. Luckily there is a lot of information for people on the Internet but still it can be difficult to know if you are doing it right or sitting in the correct posture.

When you are new to meditation, I do not think that you should stress about what posture to choose or if your legs are not flexible enough to do the lotus posture. Just sit in a position that you are able to relax in and which does not hurt your legs.

When you begin your practice you probably want to choose something simple such as a breathing meditation, where you will only have to focus on your inhalation and exhalation and in that way clear your mind. When you start out it will be difficult to keep your focus on your breathing and thoughts will constantly steal your focus, but this will past and luckily, it will improve faster than you think. So the important thing is not to give up.

Best of Luck

Learn Third Eye Meditation

Learn Third Eye Meditation

Are you interested in the third eye and would you like to open and activate it? Then you may want to try this simple meditation exercise.
Find a good way to sit during your meditation of your preference and take a minute to relax. Take a couple of deep breaths to remove worries and thoughts from your mind. When you feel still you can proceed.

Close your eyes and focus on the third eye area in the middle of your forehead between the eyebrows. Now take a breath and imagine that you are not breathing through your nose but instead through your third eye chakra. Visualize the air as a powerful purple or indigo bright colour. The purple energy stays at the third eye area and gets brighter and more powerful for each inhalation. Imagine it as an force-field of energy in the middle of your forehead. Inhale bright purple energy and exhale dark drained energy. Focus on your chakra and allow it to be stimulated. Send your loving energy to the chakra. Feel the positive energy you are inhaling and how to energy vibration activates your third eye. Sense the energy and allow it to heal your chakra with its positive vibrations.

practice third meditation technique for 15 minutes and then slowly open your eyes while keeping your energy ball on your 3rd eye.
